One of the benefits of homeschooling is the freedom parents have to individualize their children\u2019s education to best fit their interests and needs.\u00a0 This is especially true for our special learners.<\/p>\n

Hawaii\u2019s homeschool law and special needs children<\/strong><\/h2>\n

According to Hawaii\u2019s homeschool law, Chapter 12 Compulsory Attendance Exceptions, \u201cAll educational and related services statutorily mandated shall be made available at the home public school site to homeschooled children who have been evaluated and certified as needing educational and related services.\u201d \u00a0(Sec 8-12-14)<\/p>\n

Your child can receive services at the public school according to what is determined in the Individualized Education Program (IEP).<\/p>\n

Parents can also opt to homeschool their special learner child and pursue services at their own expense.<\/p>\n
