{"id":1294,"date":"2022-08-10T21:55:23","date_gmt":"2022-08-11T07:55:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/?page_id=1294"},"modified":"2022-08-23T17:25:20","modified_gmt":"2022-08-24T03:25:20","slug":"high-school-transcripts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mail.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/index.php\/high-school-transcripts\/","title":{"rendered":"High School Transcripts"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>High School Transcripts <\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1296 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/high-school-transcript-1200-1200x794-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"326\" height=\"216\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mail.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/high-school-transcript-1200-1200x794-1.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/mail.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/high-school-transcript-1200-1200x794-1-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mail.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/high-school-transcript-1200-1200x794-1-1024x678.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mail.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/high-school-transcript-1200-1200x794-1-768x508.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 326px) 100vw, 326px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>Parents are often a bit anxious about transcripts for their high schooler.\u00a0 Praise the Lord, putting together a transcript is actually the easy part of high school records \u2013especially if you have been keeping up with grading and assigning credits each year.\u00a0 Let\u2019s walk through the process \u2026<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Transcripts \u2013 What and Why <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A transcript is a one page summary of your student\u2019s academic performance during the high school years, 9<sup>th<\/sup> through 12<sup>th<\/sup> grade.\u00a0 It includes the courses taught by you, the parent, as well as courses taught by other instructors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Most people are aware that transcripts are necessary for college admission.\u00a0 The information provided on the document informs the prospective college that your high schooler is prepared for college level work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Transcripts are also requested for scholarships, technical or trade schools, employment, apprenticeship programs, military recruitment, and more.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>What\u2019s included on a transcript<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Student information \u2013 name, address, phone, email, birth date, parents\u2019 names<\/li>\n<li>School information \u2013 name, address, phone number, email, contact, graduation date<\/li>\n<li>Academic record \u2013 usually by grade level\n<ul>\n<li>course title, credit earned, and final grade<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Total credits and yearly and cumulative grade point average<\/li>\n<li>Grading scale (optional)<\/li>\n<li>Parent\u2019s signature (certifying courses are completed) and date<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The back page of the transcript should also include<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tests scores and dates (PSAT, SAT, an\/or ACT)<\/li>\n<li>A brief list of your student\u2019s awards, honors, volunteer experience, and leadership positions, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Transcript Templates<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can design your own high school transcript or search for transcript templates on Google.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are a member of Home School Legal Defense Association, you can access a free high school transcript template on their member portal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">CHOH also has a template available\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.christianhomeschoolersofhawaii.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/High-school-transcript-template.doc\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Some Helpful Tips<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Complete your student\u2019s transcript as he\/she completes each high school year.\u00a0 Give your transcript a clean and organized look by typing in the information.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Consider listing the academic subjects first, i.e. English, math, science, history, foreign language followed by the electives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If your student has taken college courses, place an * next to the course and make a note at the bottom of the transcripts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Colleges may request course descriptions along with the transcript;
