Teaching Your Child to Write Well
Tuesday, April 30, 2019 – 3:00 pm Hawaii time
We think of literacy as reading, but it actually includes much more. Literacy is defined as the ability to read and write. But more than that, we learn from the Education Development Center, that, “the power of literacy lies not only in the ability to read and write but also in an individual’s capacity to put those skills to work in shaping the course of his or her own life.” So then, we are teaching children grammar, spelling, and handwriting as subject areas and to be able to use those skills for a lifetime. Looking at literacy and writing with a biblical worldview also helps us to see that those skills could have eternal value if your child uses these skills to bring honor to God and to encourage others.
